Leading-edge business electricity retailer BizzEnergy has won the Systems Investment of the Year Award at the Utility Industry Achievement Awards 2003. Sponsored by Syntegra and formerly known as the e-commerce award, this category seeks to identify and celebrate those in the utilities sector who have invested in systems in a measurably successful way. BizzEnergy was the only company across all categories to retain its title for the second year in a row.
BizzEnergy's rationale is built on being an online, hi-tech business and its systems have to be 100 per cent reliable. Here the judges felt the case had been proven, and that the company's systems investment had helped customers and the company's bottom line in equal measure. They said in their comments: 'BizzEnergy set out to base its business on technology and has clearly demonstrated a range of measured benefits directly resulting from technology investment'.
They added: 'Bizz has shown benefit to both customers and itself and has significantly grown its business over the past year'. The judges offered their congratulations to all four short listed companies but were especially impressed with BizzEnergy for its well-argued case for category winner, backed up by hard evidence of systems innovation.
They concluded: 'We feel that this technology-driven and measurable performance sets BizzEnergy above the other candidates for the Systems Investment of The Year Award'.
BizzEnergy was also runner up in the IT Initiative of the Year Award and placed third in the Business Innovation Award.BizzEnergy's Director of Marketing Sussanne Chambers, who collected the award from Jonathan Ross on behalf of BizzEnergy said, “We are delighted to win this award for the second year in a row. It has been an exceptional year of growth for the business and receiving an independent accolade like this from the industry, makes the hard work seem very worthwhile.”
