Disconnections

Advice on Disconnections and De-Energisation

There are various reasons why you may need to disconnect the electricity supply to your premises either permanently or temporarily. Your building may be due for demolition, in which case a full disconnection of power is required. Alternatively, there may be major building work that requires de-energisation before being re-connected in the future. BizzEnergy is happy to facilitate either option for you and co-ordinates the necessary industry approved third party agents who carry out the work. Both options carry a standing charge to cover the agent fees (please see Disconnection Fees)

De-Energisation

If your site is empty, does not require electricity at the moment, but may require electricity in the future, please complete the De-Energisation Form.

  • A completed form and payment must be received before we can proceed with a disconnection or de-energisation.
  • If necessary a meter removal will be carried out by our agents normally within 10-15 working days.
  • Please make sure that you have a representative on site to allow access and to request receipts for any work carried out.
  • Failure to produce these receipts could result in further invoices for the consumption on this supply.

Disconnection

If your site is to be demolished and electricity is no longer required, please complete the Disconnection Form.

  • A completed form and payment must be received before we can proceed with a disconnection.
  • The meter removal will be carried out by our agents normally within 10-15 working days.
  • The power line will be removed by your local distribution company who will contact you approximately 4 days before the disconnection is due.
  • Please make sure that you have a representative on site to allow access and to request receipts for any work carried out.
  • Failure to produce these receipts could result in further invoices for the removed supply.
  • If for any reason your circumstances change and you require a supply in the future, you can organise re-energisation for a fee.

Please Note

It is a condition of your BizzEnergy contract that any disconnection requests are arranged direct with BizzEnergy and not with any other organisations. If the disconnection is arranged without BizzEnergy’s involvement we cannot guarantee the transfer of accurate data from the Local Distribution Company to BizzEnergy. This may result in your company being billed to an assumed supply and you will still be liable for meter removal and administration fees.
