Hitting the deadline for student exams...
“The University of Winchester needed a new high voltage electricity supply to its King Alfred Campus before Christmas 2005. The switchover was required during the Christmas vacation period so as to minimise disruption and to be ready for examinations in the early part of the January 2006 term. The supply was necessary to allow moves from various other university buildings and to ensure everything would be ready for the new term in January. Failure of this would have resulted in student examinations being postponed, posing a major difficulty for the university.
An initial approach to BizzEnergy giving outline details and a request for a contract was made late on Friday 9 December for a connection to be made by Sunday 18 December. BizzEnergy sent a quotation to the university on Tuesday 13 and a signed acceptance was received back the following day. In view of the very short timescales, BizzEnergy liaised closely with the university, the Local Distribution Company and Meter Operator and pulled out all the stops to ensure the work was completed on time. There were a few glitches on the way, but BizzEnergy overcame all the obstacles and the supply was successfully energised at 5pm on Saturday 17 December, a day earlier than originally planned.
We knew we were asking a lot to get the supply connected in the time available but BizzEnergy rose to the challenge, kept us informed of progress and co-ordinated the activities of all associated parties to achieve the target date.”
